Goals- Here is to Looking at 2020

I decided to do something different this year- write down my goals- big, small and in between. The funny thing is I love lists- wishlists, grocery lists, to-do list, etc. So I am not sure why I have never written down a list of goals for myself. These are in no particular order but I did only write down my shopping goals! I will be keeping my other goals to myself. Do you write down your goals for the new year? If so what are they?

  1. Buy Less and Better Quality Pieces– I have really been turning more to sustainable brands and better quality pieces. I find that when I buy better quality items I buy less since I genuinely love wearing them and don’t remind being an outfit repeater! Plus I am not into fast fashion so much anymore so this first goal completely aligns with this.
  2. Try Better to Stick to a Budget– I have a tendency to stick well to a budget for a month and then go crazy. So I need be more consistent with my budget and really track everything I buy.
  3. Sell Pieces that I do not Use or Wear Anymore– I have a tendency to really get attached to pieces for sentimental reasons but having things collecting dust, taking up space isn’t good. I need to be better about selling pieces- just have to remind myself that when I sell something I can use that money for something else!
  4. Follow the Wishlist Better– I have a tendency to get sidetracked by deals and sales…especially with things that are not on my wishlist. Sometimes the items I buy on sale end up working out perfectly but other times its evident that I got distracted by the price tag and the item does not work out for me. This also applies to buying an item that is on my wishlist but is not in the exact color or size I want. When this happens I have a tendency to buy the on sale piece…and then eventually the piece I wanted. That is a waste of money and resources.
  5. Declutter and Donate Pieces– I have been doing much better with this but I still need to make progress. I have generally been the same size since high school which means I have a hard time getting rid of things because they still fit. My best friend is a pro at getting rid of things so I have enlisted her services!
