I have had my beige and black Chanel ballerinas, which I did purchase preloved, for 4 years. If you have the ability to make the $850 investment into the actual Chanel version (and that is something you are interested in) I highly recommend getting them. (You can find them for less preloved as well- check out Fashionphile.) As with a lot of higher-end shoes they can be resoled at your local cobbler which can prolong the life of your shoes. I like the style so much I even have two pairs. (My other pair is a black quilted pair).
But that being said I know the price point of the shoes is really steep and not accessible to everyone. That is where the Chanel ballerina dupes come in. To get the vibe of the Chanel ballerinas without the price point you want to look for ballet flats that have a different color captoe. This look evokes a timeless, French vibe which pairs well with jeans and dresses.
Normally I start out by linking the designer pair of shoes I am talking about- which in this case are the Chanel Ballerinas. Unfortunately for all of us who prefer shopping online Chanel does not sell their shoes, bags or RTW online.
1- Colorway on Point but Make it Square
ASOS DESIGN Locket Square Toe Ballet Flats in Black and Beige– $32.00
These shoes definitely have the Parisian, captoe vibes of the originals but are a little more contemporary with the square toe. They are the same colorway which is very flattering. Plus they are from ASOS who often has sales so you could very likely get them for less than $32.
2- Same Style but Make it White and Black
J. Crew Factory Captoe Ballet Flats– $69.99
These shoes are the perfect flat, captoe ballet flat. They have the bow like the Chanel Ballerinas do as well as the contrasting cap toe. Another plus for these shoes is they are real leather which means they should last longer.
3- Captoe but Make it Knit
Nordstrom Rack Journee Collection Veata Flat– $44.97
Again the French vibes are on point for these but they are perfect for anyone who isn’t into leather/pleather. They are a knit material much like Rothys. They also have a rubber bottom so they are not going to be as slippery as a leather bottom. The coloring is a bit different but still has the captoe Chanel look.
4- Similar but Let’s Add a Contrasting Trim
Nine West Women’s Olly 9X9 Ballet Flats– $79.00
These flats are very similar to the Chanel Ballerinas and have the same vibes. What does make them unique is the contrasting trim and the metal accent on the heel. I also like that these have the bow like the Chanel Ballerinas.
5- Captoe Flats That Are Super Reasonable
Truffle Collection ballet flats with toe cap in cream– $16.00
If you are on a budget but want the Chanel Ballerina vibes these are the dupe for you. They have the captoe and the bow which is so cute. They are not beige and black but Chanel does make white and black flats as well!
