Places to Shop- Clothing

Nordstrom

Pros- great variety; have great sales; great return policy; basically I just love to shop at Nordstrom

Cons- will sell out and not always restock the item (But really Nordstrom’s is great)

Nordstrom Rack

Pros- great prices on a lot of higher end brands, when there is a clear the rack event the clearance is another 25% off (this applies online too!); can find items for literally a penny; get a lot of stuff that Nordstrom still has in stores; great return policy

Cons- better selection in store than online, do not always get a full size run

Hautelook

Pros- great deals on high end items, inventory is refreshed at least once a day with new items, can return to Nordstrom Rack or via the mail

Cons- see it buy it due to event time constraints, no store locations so cannot try items on, will cancel orders or parts of orders without notifying you (and believe me this can drive me insane!)

Old Navy

Pros- great for trendy items; always having sales; many different pieces for many different styles; free shipping over $50; easy to return/ exchange

Cons- not the best quality to last through the years; not always cut consistently ( can wear many different sizes in different items)

Bloomingdales

Pros- great sales on a lot of classic pieces (Bloomies often has 25% off sales that are applicable to most brands, they also allow you to combined coupons); 365 return policy; free shipping and returns when a loyalist (and being a loyalist is free!)

Cons- carry a limit stock of most brands, sales do not include high end brands like Gucci, send packages via UPS with signature so often get sent to UPD drop off points for you to have to pick up (this can be solved by getting a UPS account but that’s not as easy as it seems)

Poshmark

Pros- ability to make offers; wide variety of clothes; great phone app and a website

Cons- only have 3 days to accept the package; shipping charged regardless of what you buy; people describe their own items so do not always describe them accurately; limited returns; have to be wary of fakes; not always brand new so look for New With Tags (NWT) for new items (also the boutique feature is good for this)

Mercari (note this is an App you need to download)

Pros- great deals (seller only pays 10% of sale); ability to make offers

Cons- cannot return (generally- if item is not authentic or not as described then you can); have to accept the order within 3 days of package being delivered; not the best customer service but this has been improving; phone/tablet application and therefore no website; also have to be wary of fakes
